Welcome To Tanzania High Commission in Nigeria

H. E. Muhidini Ally Mboweto High Commissioner

Dear Visitor

It is my honour and privilege to welcome you to the official webpage of the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania here in Abuja, Nigeria. We are located at No. 21B Yedseram Street off IBB Way, Maitama, Abuja. The major landmarks are the Inspector General of Police House (IG House) and Cuban Suites, formerly known as AlGON HOUSE.

The High Commission covers both bilateral and multilateral issues. At the bilateral level we are accredited to Nigeria and other 14 West African countries which include Ghana, Benin, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Conakry, Senegal, Mali, Liberia, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Niger and Guinea-Bissau. At multilateral level our commission is accredited to among others, ECOWAS and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

The prime objective of our Mission is to strengthen and enhance bilateral and multilateral relations between Tanzania and the countries of our accreditation as well as the multinational organisation in our purview. We are particularly charged with the responsibility of implementing ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY which is the main thrust of the Tanzanian Foreign Policy of the 21st Century.

Top on our agenda is the promotion of Tanzania as an investment, tourism and business destination. To reach that end, our priority areas of focus are:

a) Sourcing for potential investors and facilitating the process for them to invest in Tanzania (Dangote has already set an example).
b) Expansion of trade between Tanzania and our mandate area of accreditation; in the spirit of ‘South-South Cooperation’.
c) Tanzania is number 2 in the world (after Brazil) in touristic attractions. We strive to attract West Africans and the world at large to see and explore Tanzania as a tourist destination. Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks, Mount Kilimanjaro the highest in Africa and the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar are among the touristic attractions in the country, to mention a few.
d) Tanzanians appreciates West African art and culture particularly of Nigeria. We strive to expand platforms of existing cultural exchanges (especially to facilitate co-production in the creative industry, such as films and music production).
e) Enhancing technical cooperation between Tanzania and our area of accreditation.

The webpage therefore, intends to give you information and knowledge on the services provided by our Mission, opportunities that Tanzania can offer to prospective investors, tourists as well as to visitors on holidays to Tanzania. We hope that you will find this webpage interesting and useful as you plan and prepare to visit Tanzania.

Thank you for showing interest and support into our activities.

Welcome to Tanzania, the Land of Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and the Serengeti.
