Welcome To Tanzania High Commission in Nigeria

Dear Visitor

We welcome you to the webpage of Tanzania High Commission here in Nigeria. We are located at No. 21, Yedseram Street, off IBB Way, Maitama, Abuja. The major landmarks are the Inspector General of Police House (IG House) and Cubana Suites (formerly known as ALGON House). Presently, the Mission does not have a High Commissioner. However, at the moment, the Tanzania High Commission is headed by The Counsellor, Mr. Elias Mwandobo, as Charge d’ Affaires.

It is our intention that this webpage will be a gateway for information and education, set to promote Tanzania national interest within all our area of accreditation, which includes 14 other West African countries (Ghana, Benin, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal, Mali, Liberia, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Niger and Guinea-Bissau), ECOWAS and African Development Bank.

Our core focus as a High Commission centres on ‘Economic Diplomacy’ in line with our Ministry’s approach. In economic diplomacy we tend to focus essentially on the following areas:

a) Sourcing for potential investors and facilitating the process for them to invest in Tanzania (Dangote has already set an example). b) Expansion of trade between Tanzania and our mandate area of accreditation; in the spirit of ‘South-South Cooperation’. c) Tanzania is number 2 in the world (after Brazil) in touristic attractions. We strive to attract West Africans to see and explore Tanzania as a tourist destination. d) Tanzanians love and adore Nigerian art and culture. We strive to expand platforms of existing cultural exchanges (particularly to facilitate co-production of movies). e) Enhancing technical cooperation between Tanzania and our area of accreditation.

We sincerely hope and believe we will get your support and cooperation to be able to achieve the objectives stated above. Thank you for showing interest in our activities.

Welcome to Tanzania the Land of Great Opportunities.
