Visa Information

VISA REQUIREMENTS

  • Two recent passport photographs (on white background)
  • A valid International Passport (Valid for at least 6 months from date of application)
  • An introduction letter from your employer/company
  • An Invitation letter (If you are being invited over)
  • Hotel Reservation

VISA FEES:

Visiting visa:                          ₦ 16,300 (for holiday, visit, conference, workshop and official).

Express Visa Fee:                ₦ 22,600 (for holiday, visit, conference, workshop and official)

USA Passport Holders:    ₦ 32,000

 All the above fees Effective from 1st January, 2018.

 

Business Visa Fee:               ₦ 79,300 Effective from 17th November, 2017

SOME CATEGORIES UNDER BUSINESS VISA:

  • The person who goes to Tanzania for special duties such as: installation of plants/machine or to

facilitate short courses.

  • The person who goes to Tanzania for expert duties such as auditing of financial reports.
  • The person who will go to conduct legal business in

 

Note: Visa fees should be paid at any UBA Bank Plc after verification of visa application documents at the Tanzania High Commission. Any Payments made to the Commission’s Account before approval is non-refundable.

Official Opening Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 3:00pm

Visa Submission hours:    9.00am – 12noon

Visa Collection hour:      2.30pm – 3.00pm

GENERAL NOTE FOR ALL CATEGORIES OF VISAS:

  • Yellow Fever vaccination card is required.
  • Copy of Certificate of Registration and official Identity Card of Applicant.
  • All refusal notice from other Embassies is required.
  • Copy of Marriage Certificate. Birth certificate (for children)
  • Courier applications are not acceptable.
  • Application should be made in person except for Government Officials, agencies and Religious groups.
  • No Visa appointment booking is required.
  • All applications should be submitted before 00 noon.
  • Visa process/issue will take two (2) working days upon submission.

 

Referral Cases

 There are some countries whose nationals require special clearance from the Commissioner General of Immigration or the Commissioner of Immigration (Zanzibar) prior to issuance of the Visa. These countries fall under the Referral Visa Category. Applicants whose nationals fall under this category are not advised to book flight tickets or make payments for any reservations in Tanzania before they get approval for their Visa. Applicants of Referral Visa are advised to apply at least two months before their date of travel.

Public Notice:

Please be informed of the following changes to our visa application process:

•That with effect from 21st September, 2018 all Nigerian citizens traveling to Tanzania will no longer be issued with visa upon arrival.

•Nigerian citizens traveling to Tanzania are now required to apply and obtain visa at the Tanzania High Commission here in Abuja or at any of our missions in their respective countries of residence before they depart.

•Arrangements have been made to speed up the process of visa issuance to meet the need of our esteemed visitors/guests. Therefore, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications earlier so that we can process their visa in the shortest period possible.

•This measure is aimed at ensuring smooth entry and enjoyable stay for our visitors/guests in Tanzania.

NOTICE

 

THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA INTRODUCED ELECTRONIC VISA AND RESIDENT PERMIT APPLICATION SYSTEM FROM NOVEMBER 2018.

You can now apply for an Online Visa to visit the United Republic of Tanzania (both Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar). You are required to fill in the online form, make payment, and submit your application online. Your form will be internally reviewed and processed.

Applicants will be notified through their e-mails whether their applications have been accepted or rejected. They may also TRACK their application status through the online system. Applicants may as well be required to visit the nearest Tanzanian Embassies or Consular Offices for interviews.

For now visitors can enter with e-visa through the following five (5) entry points:

  • Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar Es Salaam
  • Kilimanjaro International Airport, Kilimanjaro
  • Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, Zanzibar
  • Namanga Border
  • Tunduma Border
